OUR STUDIO

HJL Studio is a professional design and build practice in the field of architecture and interior design that provides progressive, yet functional design solutions tailored to each client's needs.  Based in Seoul, Korea, HJL Studio was established by Heejae Lee on the belief that a good design uses resources wisely and becomes an asset, rather than a liability.

Working closely with a network of skilled professionals, the studio provides contemporary design solutions that endure the test of time. Our practice serves clients on a personal, yet professional level, focusing on design solutions where aesthetics and functionality are in balance.  

ABOUT HEEJAE LEE

Heejae Lee was born in Korea and raised in the United States during his formative years. After completing his architectural studies at Pratt Institute in New York, he returned to Korea to begin his professional career.

Raised by a father who is an architect and a mother who is a photographer, he was exposed early to both the technical and visual aspects of design. His experience living and working across Western and Eastern cultures shaped an approach that values balance, clarity, and restraint, drawing from the strengths of each.

Prior to establishing HJL Studio, he worked for five years at Hanul Architects & Engineers under the guidance of his architect father, Sung Kwan Lee. This period provided practical experience in architectural design and construction that continues to inform the studio’s work today.
